We don't have your stuff.
Markdown Pro is a desktop app. Your files live on your disk. We never see them, we never sync them, we never have a copy. There is no cloud account. There is no upload. There is no "your stuff is on our servers" — because it isn't.
We don't watch you work.
No telemetry. No analytics SDK. No "anonymous usage data." No keystroke logging. The app does not phone home. We do not know how often you open it, what files you open, or what you write.
What we do have.
Two things, and only when they apply to you.
- License key. When you buy Markdown Pro, your purchase creates a license key in our database. The key is what proves you paid. That's its only job. We never associate the key with what you write — we couldn't if we tried.
- Payment receipt. Handled by Stripe. We see your email and the order amount. We never see your card number; that stays at Stripe.
Plus, if you joined the waitlist before launch — your name and email, used to send you the launch announcement and nothing else. Ask us to delete it and we will.
What we don't have.
- Your documents
- Your edits, drafts, or revisions
- Your file paths or folder structure
- Your usage patterns
- Marketing pixels or third-party trackers
- Cookies on this site, beyond what fonts and CDN providers set themselves
- A "logged-in user" — there isn't one
The optional AI assistant.
It's off by default. When you turn it on, it sends what you ask it to a model provider you pick. When it's off (the default), nothing leaves your machine. You're in charge of which is which.
Want everything we have on you?
Email admin@markdownpro.app. We'll export it (it's small) and, if you ask, delete it. No friction, no forms.
